As part of the international head unit development team, you will lead the head unit platform domain network. Your product enables ethernet and CAN communication in the head units across all BMW Group vehicle derivatives and generations.

What awaits you?

• You clarify requirements in network relevant specification with functional owners, central E/E architects, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• The network domain comprises ethernet communication across all ISO OSI layers including AVB, someIP, TCP/IP, UDP, AVB, ethernet switch, CAN communication, Inter-node communication between head unit processors.
• You manage software contributions from Tier1 as well as from BMW Software teams across the V-model.
• Furthermore, you are responsible for the implementation, integration and validation of new features and functional changes, e.g. enabling new infotainment or autonomous driving functionality.
• You drive defect pre-analysis, dispatching to the appropriate software development team as well as bug-fix integration in a timely manner.
• Also, you define performance/ stability requirements with the project up to testability and support analysis of KPI deviations.
• You report to the head unit software project lead.

What should you bring along?

• University degree in IT, electronics, sciences or a comparable qualification.
• At least 3 years of work experience in the development of network software solutions.
• Knowledge of network technologies (ETH, CAN, switches, Android, TCP/IP configurations, network protocol tooling frameworks).
• Experience in developing and/or leading software network projects.
• Knowledge of automotive software development processes is desirable.
• Business-fluent English, good understanding of German.
