We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and various internship in the area of Vehicle Data Analytics.

As a key member of the dynamic data science team you will be owing delivery of business outcomes from beginning to end, including understanding business requirements, developing architecture, aggregating and exploring data, building & validating predictive models, and deploying them to deliver business impact to the organization. You are working with a group of young data scientists, product managers, and domain experts to build intelligent models for internal teams and customer-facing products. We share passion for problem solving, new technologies, and learning, so you will be highly encouraged to explore new technologies and come up with innovative solutions and ideas that could take the team’s machine learning capabilities to the next level.


What awaits you?

  • Work on learning-based solutions for a variety of tasks in predictive maintenance.
  • Have the chance to drive your creative ideas from ideation up to final products.
  • Work with internal stakeholders on ongoing projects to explore the ever increasing amount of vehicle data.
  • Apply complex analytical techniques to derive actionable insights.
  • Design and implement data science applications.
  • Design, build, automate, deploy and maintain machine learning pipelines.
  • Build model performance tracking tools, to monitor month over month model performance, identify drivers and provide recommendations for model performance improvement.
  • Author technical documentation and reports to communicate process and results.


What should you bring along?

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in either Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related fields with project experience in machine learning and statistical modeling.
  • Working knowledge of SQL language and processing big data.
  • Working knowledge of one or more scientific programming languages/packages: Python or R.
  • Knowledge of common machine learning and statistics frameworks and concepts.
  • Experience with automation tools like Sagemaker in AWS is plus.
  • High motivation to expand your knowledge in the area of Data Science.
