Description

Acts as the Operational Lead for Paint Shop maintenance. Manages, directs and steers Paint Shop maintenance activities, equipment downtime, process improvements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for Units per Hour (UPH), Equipment Availability (EA), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time To Failure (MTTF). Directs maintenance and operational activities to support production requirements. Provides expert level technical support for equipment and automation to those within the Work Organization with the support of a highly skilled team of maintenance experts. Steers development, decisions, implementations, solutions and corrective measures for Preventative and Predictive Maintenance, Repair, PM Scheduling, Availability, and Quality based on Plan-Do-Check Act (PDCA) methods. Guides the team in problem solving and to identify innovative solutions in collaboration with Work Organization members, in alignment with technology planning.

Promotes results-oriented thinking to achieve Key Performance indicators (KPIs). Leads the development and execution of enabler projects in order to sustainably achieve KPI targets. Reviews measures and decisions for sustainability and effectiveness. Implements and steers all applicable BMW policies, standards, processes, and instructions. Represents BMW Group in a professional manner by role modeling. Leads planning, resources and technical equipment management in an efficient manner regarding time, quality and cost. Demonstrates compliance to the Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality systems, as well as, Information Protection, Data Security and Product Conformity requirements. Addresses promptly and implements corrective measures in case of incident.

Maintains documentation and reports for assigned systems and audits. Provides transparency on targets, area performance and planned changes using appropriate forms of communication. Drives and supports strategic change and sustainable transformation processes and continuous improvement based on BMW Group objectives and own ideas. Supports management team to understand change and manage uncertainty. Delivers timely performance feedback including corrective actions for improvement and recognition for performance. Achieves training and compliance requirements within designated deadlines for self. Develops own technical, professional skills, and process knowledge to meet current and future requirements. Leads in Problem Solving, strategic initiatives, Technical training requirements and Improvements through Coaching. Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work. Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles. Performs time administration duties to ensure proper time and pay calculations. Proxy for Section Manager. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree or the equivalent of 4 years professional experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of related professional manufacturing experience in a production environment, automation or Maintenance background
    (preferred).
  • 3+ years of project management experience and process planning skills.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt, (preferred).
  • 3+ years verbal and written communication skills as proven through work experience.
  • 3+ years general automation and equipment knowledge.
  • 3+ years business administration skills such as planning, organizing, budgeting, etc.
  • 3+ years level computer skills (Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, etc.) as demonstrated by
    business applications.
  • 3+ years skills in SAP (creating requisitions, goods receipt and budget tracking) (preferred).
