Engineering Data Validation / Configuration Team Co-op (Summer 2024)
This is a co-op position which requires three alternating rotations (e. g. 1st rotation: spring, 2nd rotation: fall, 3rd rotation: summer).
The student will be exposed to new product content, involved in projects, and engage in collaborative department work. The intent is to develop the candidate to lead their own project if possible. The Co-op will support the Engineering Data Analyst team with activities to verify the bill of material and demand logic changes for vehicle production. The student’s projects will involve development and optimizing of data analytical systems to improve processes and reporting.- Support Engineering Data Analysist Team with engineering changes:- Create, manage, and validate component overviews for specific parts of the car
- Contribute to Test Car BOM (Bill of Material) validation, where the new design changes are verified (i.e., the correct part is systematically steered to the correct vehicle)- Investigate design topics through data analysis
- Report generation and maintenance- Major projects in this role focus on efficiency improvements and data accuracy, that could include:- Implementing solutions to improve efficiency in the processes
- Complete various process mapping exercises (e.g., process flow, swim lane, etc.)
- Create content overview for different vehicle modules
- Facilitates workshops to define the current process and outline areas of opportunity
- NOTE: most of the processes within TX-511/512 are systematic and information based, so many of the improvement opportunities lie in systematic process changes
