Digital Identity Co-op (Summer 2024)

This is a co-op position which requires three alternating rotations (e.g. 1st rotation: summer, 2nd rotation: spring, 3rd rotation: fall). 

Functional.  Supports agile Digital Identity Product Owner, Agile Master and Feature Teams for delivery to Domain Owner. Organization, Documentation, Testing, Software Development and Lifecycle management of applications. Supports Jira and confluence for Feature Team.

The Team did a Tool evaluation in 2022 for a tool that allows shared credentials over multiple platforms (e.g., Bitwarden). The tool has been picked and a pilot phase has been done successfully. For 2023 funding of the licenses is secured. Costs for operations etc. have to be cross charged to BMW Users globally. In 2023 the focus is finding a cross charging model within the BMW policies and guidelines. Rollout the tool to BMW associates globally (support creation of a rollout plan, communications plan, support purchasing negotiations, create documentation, resolve IT solutions etc.). In 2024, the tool will be rolled out to 3000 additional users across BMW and would need to be supported.  Along with Bitwarden, the support is required to roll out Multifactor Authentication to 250,000 Dealer Associates.

The qualified co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

•   Support of roll out of new password manager, roll out MFA to dealers, strong authentication and PKI tools
•  Software development in JAVA or a similar programming language
•  Reviewing technical documentation and migration of content into Confluence as applicable
• Creating, maintaining and enhancing existing Power BI Dashboards for the team from an operational/KPI standpoint.
• Automation of operational tasks using scripts or small program modules (e.g. Java, PowerShell)
•   Project Team member for internal projects involving tools or processes (Cloud, Confluence/Jira Reporting)
• Operational Reporting for team including understanding of Excel/Finance.
• Onboarding new Bitwarden users and resolve their questions
• Create / Establish Product Depot along with continuous improvement process

• Business, Finance or Computer Science major.
•  Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and Content Management Systems (Atlassian Tool suite knowledge would be of advantage)
• Basic understanding and experience in SQL (knowledge of DBMS like Oracle, Postgres would be of advantage)
•  Basic understanding of modern operating systems web application and client/server architecture
• Basic understanding of Identity and Access Management would be of advantage
•  Experience in Microsoft Office Tools like Excel.
•  Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
•  Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States
• Completed at least 30 credit hours
• Able to complete 3 rotating terms for co-op positions
• Have at least 1 remaining term in school after the completion of the co-op or internship\
• Transfer students must have a GPA from current university
• Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term
