Our Summit ONE in Farnborough is home to the National Sales Company for the BMW Group in the UK, as well as BMW Group Financial Services which offers retailers, corporate, and private customers a range of customised financial services. Alphabet (GB) Ltd. as a leading provider of Business Mobility Services is also located in Farnborough. We decided in November 2020 to bring together BMW Financial Services and Alphabet to stay relevant to our customers and continue to succeed in a rapidly changing business environment.

With recent market developments, changing customer behaviours, and new digital interactions, it is imperative that as a leading premium automotive brand, the BMW Group are at the forefront of this exciting transformation.
This role will be specifically focused on ensuring the BMW Group remains at the forefront of our changing industry through supporting, developing, and implementing new retail orientated initiatives to maximise market potential for the BMW Group. This role offers an exciting opportunity where you, as our intern, will be a key part of the Future Sales team in a period of organisational change where you will be given numerous opportunities to be directly involved in a brand new, industry leading sales transformation.
What will you be doing?
In this role, no two days are the same, but the following provides an overview of what you can expect:
- Contributing to the strategic direction of the BMW Group.
- Supporting the Project Manager to manage project timelines with multiple business partners within the UK, Ireland, and Munich. There will be numerous opportunities for you to develop your own project management skills through your involvement in both ongoing and future projects.
- Analysing all available information to identify and escalate any programme risks that could affect the rollout of the project.
- Coordinating local market input to the Munich project team for key business opportunities to ensure that they meet the group's operational and strategic requirements.
- Monitoring workstream progress of each local BMW Group area to ensure that progress towards projects is parallel with that of our Munich working groups.
- Co-ordination of regular Retailer Forums.
- Supporting the business in a period of organisational change within our Sales function, including the opportunity to be a part of a brand new and industry leading project.
Qualifications and experience
- Studying towards a bachelor's degree in Business Studies, Marketing, Management, or a related field and on track to achieve at least a 2:2.
- An experienced user of Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of Project Management work packages would be advantageous, but is not essential.
- A strong ability to adapt your working approach depending on specific requirements, as well as being able to prioritise activities, work under pressure, multi-task, and solve problems.
- Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills. This role will involve working in a small team whilst liaising with several other business areas.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational and time management skills, coupled with the ability to show high attention to detail in every task.
- An excellent team player.
- Flexibility, allowing you to work in a changing environment.
- A full UK Driving License is advantageous but is not essential.
