Plant Oxford is the birthplace and heart of MINI production. Manufactured to individual customer specifications, hundreds of MINIs leave the plant’s assembly lines each day, off to meet new owners in more than 110 countries around the world. Three UK plants have a part to play in MINI production – Plant Hams Hall makes engines, Plant Swindon produces body pressings and sub-assemblies for MINI, and all this comes together at Plant Oxford with body shell production, paint and final assembly.
MINI Plant Oxford - Human Resource Management, Training Department – 13 Month Placement (July 2024)
The BMW Group UK Training department is responsible for meeting the training and development needs of all employees within our 11 UK based businesses excluding the sales dealerships. The role is based in Oxford, however some travel to sites such as Farnborough, Rolls Royce in Goodwood, Hams-Hall in Birmingham, and Swindon will be required.
You will be involved in day-to-day activities, such as developing training strategy focusing upon learning culture. Involved in the creation and marketing / communicating training topics to ensure our offers are known and utilised. This may include developing and enabling e-learning content as a medium for learning within the employee training space. Activities may also include contractual agreements between the individuals, the business areas, and the training provider. Tracking learner plans, documenting processes, and facilitating meetings and project work.

What will you be doing?
- Organisation and co-ordination of training activities and topics.
- Development of data sets and analysis to predict business training requirements.
- Research and deriving information into new forms of training either Face to Face, virtual or E-Learning.
- Administration of business processes and participation in meeting and workshops.
- Steering of identified projects and innovations.
- Representing the business at events and activities.
- Undertaking a bachelor’s degree in the field of Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics or Human Resources, progressing towards a minimum 2:2 or above
- Proactive with a team player approach and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
- Confidence & ability to put ideas forwards.
- Excellent Microsoft office skills.
- Good with data and ideally with some experience of data analytics business intelligence tools.
- Good communication skills utilising a range of different media.
- Good time-management with the ability to deal with multiple topics and meet tight deadlines.
- Drive to improve yourself and open to new ideas.
- German language and advantage (but not essential).
