Intern, Advanced Driver Assistance System
This is a full-time internship position for a Fall Rotation, expected to start around September 18, 2023 through March 15, 2023 in Oxnard, CA.
The intern will support the US Automated Driving Team to perform validation testing for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). This includes partly autonomous driving systems like highway assist or remote controlled parking functions. The focus of activities is both to optimize the functional and technical characteristics as well as the human machine interface of these driver assistance systems to the needs and wishes of US customers. This position offers the opportunity to work in an international environment within a highly successful global company.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of test drives including commissioning prototype vehicle hardware and software setup
- Support and execution of local test drives
- Setup and maintenance of measurement equipment
- Evaluation and preparation of test drive results for communication with project partners
- Independent execution and documentation of predefined test sets to ensure ADAS function quality

- Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
- Have completed at least 30 college credit hours at time of application (year 3 or 4)
- Field of study: Engineering
- Concentration: Electrical/Automotive
- Additional skills: basic Python proficiency, must possess valid driver’s license (passenger vehicle)
- Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international students only)
- Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript
- Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week)

Preferences
- Prior internship and/or relevant work experience
- Previous work experience within BMW or the automotive industry in the field of embedded electronics or infotainment preferred.
- Languages: English (fluent, oral and written), German desirable
