Intern, Advanced Driver Assistance System
This is a full-time internship position for a Spring Rotation, expected to start around June 5, 2023 through September 1, 2023 in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.
The intern will support the US Automated Driving Team to define US market requirements and perform validation testing for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). This includes partly autonomous driving systems like Active Cruise Control or Parking Assist as well as active safety systems like Lane Keeping Assist or Speed Limit Information. The focus of activities is both to optimize the functional and technical characteristics as well as the human machine interface of these driver assistance systems to the needs and wishes of US customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Application of market research tools like competitor benchmarking, customer feedback analysis and customer studies
- Analysis of fleet data to identify new issues, to refine requirements or improve test planning
- Formulating US specific requirements
- Controlling the implementation of these requirements into targeted function and systems by validation tests
- Define test cases and participate in validation test drives

- Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
- Have completed at least 30 college credit hours at time of application (year 3 or 4)
- Field of study: Engineering
- Concentration: Electrical/Automotive
- Additional skills: Strong coding/programming skills
- Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international students only)
- Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript
- Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week) for 5-6 months
- Excellent time-management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
- Excellent organizational and planning skills

Preferences
- Prior internship and/or relevant work experience
- Previous work experience within BMW or the automotive industry in the field of data science / testing & validation
- Languages: English, German (fluent, oral and written)
