Manager of Safety and Ergonomics

As Manager of Safety and Ergonomics you will be responsible for developing annual strategies, targets, standards, and processes that are necessary to achieve the Occupational Health, Safety and Ergonomics requirements according to Mexican Legislation and BMW Group standards. Also, you should ensure the application, maintenance and further development of the OH&S Management System in conjunction with the BMW Group Representative for OH&S tracked on monthly basis.

You will manage the budget and invest plans of monthly basis, steer the performance of the OH&S Management System, make recommendations for improvements, and communicate the performance to management and the BMW Group Representative for OH&S on weekly basis.

Furthermore, you will be guiding, overseeing, supporting and advising technically for the OH&S and Food Services team on monthly basis. Influence the leadership regarding the decision based on risk assessments. Also, manage, review, define and provide required safety training for safety coordinators and ensure mandatory trainings for all Plant.

You should prepare and design OH&S reports and statistics on monthly basis, participate and r conduct meetings with experts in USA and Germany. You will interact with other BMW Plants and Central functions for benchmarking and processes alignment contact with Labor Agency, Union to deal OH&S topics.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors or equivalent degree desirable in Safety, industrial engineering, or related field

- 5+ years of management experience primarily in the Health and Safety management/occupational medicine preferably in the Automotive Industry.

- Disciplinary leadership experience of a team, including hiring, training, development and evaluation.

- 3+ year OHS auditor.

- ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 19011, ISO 12100, ISO 13849 implementation and management experience.

- Knowledge in Haz-Com/Management of hazardous substances-chemical handling aspects, labeling requirements, and disposal techniques.

- Occupational/industrial hygiene and legal compliance diploma preferable.

- Fluent business English.
