Manager, Pre-Owned
Reporting to the Director, Used Car, the Manager, Pre-Owned is responsible for supporting the implementation of BMW Group’s Used Car strategy. This role collaborates closely with all departments, regional management teams and Retailers to define and execute programs that support BMW & MINI pre-owned retail, maximize Retailer profitability and support new vehicle residual values.
Responsibilities include:
- Management and development of the Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Program.
- National CPO marketing (digital, POS, CRM, media) including strategy development, implementation, and agency management.
- Working with Dealer Area Group (DAG) Committee to define and execute pre-owned retail (tier 2) marketing strategy.
- Support used car retail achievement through coordination of with internal and external stakeholders (Retailers, Regions, Financial Services, Legal) to develop monthly used car offers and associated advertising and promotion.
- Development of Used Car Customer journey including all digital and physical touchpoints.
- Closely monitors program performance including impact on lead generation, CPO penetration and used car retail sales. Determines KPIs and provides detailed reports and assessments to Retailers, Regions, internal stakeholders, and agencies.
- Manages department budgets, regularly meets with internal stakeholders to communicate status and strategize on delivering maximum business impact with the allocated funds.
- Proposes innovative ideas to drive higher consideration, increase CPO sales and improve Customer experience. Inclusive of communication, digital experience, partnerships, Retailer engagement, in-store tools, etc.
- Managing, performance steering and mentoring of Pre-Owned Specialist.
- Other duties of a general or unspecified nature as may be required to achieve the overall effectiveness of the specific region or BMW Group Canada as a whole.
- College or University degree most beneficial, but not required if sufficient industry knowledge exists.
- Minimum of 5 years management experience in the auto industry, preferably at a head office, but would consider those in the region or retail business.
- Experience with retail marketing, digital marketing, and CRM.
- Automotive experience including target setting and retail steering.
- Experience conducting Retailer visits to review performance and opportunities.
- Experience managing multiple high priority projects in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Enhanced computer capabilities.
- Ability to travel and participate in events and meetings.
