Description
The Logistic Quality Specialist Intern will connect the network with integrated supply chain solutions to safeguard production. Ensuring parts supply at the right time, right place, quantity and quality for continuous production. The Focus of our department is Material Control, Transportation Control and Delivery Assurance. We are the Gatekeepers of the supply chain for the ultimate driving machine.The qualified intern/Co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:
  • Digitization and Standardization of logistics processes ( e.g. Smart Container Management)
  • Analysis and visualization of KPIs, data analytics
  • Logistic supplier qualification (KPI reporting, 8D, FMEA) & wrong delivery prevention
  • Shortage management of supply critical suppliers (semiconductors, ....)
  • Improvements to control uncertain global supply chains, e.g. Data-driven Process material control
  • Project management, independent tracking and tracing of issues, status reporting
  • Preparation of documents and presentations for committees and circles (Supplier Radar, NAFTA Supply Circle, etc.)
  • Smart Container Management
  • KPI Dashboards
  • Data Analytics and Visualization
  • Sustainability (Reduction of CO2 emissions, e.g. E-Trucks)
  • Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Digitalization Projects
  • Value Stream Mapping
  • Part Defect Reduction
  • Digitalization of Shipments

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have completed (or is in the process of receiving) a degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or a related field with a GPA of 3.4 or above (preferred).  Candidate must have strong interpersonal and technical skills (experience using Power BI, SQL, Data Lake, etc. is a bonus).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • SAP basics
  • Independent & detail-oriented work
  • Organized
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Successful completion of previous internship/working student assignment within the BMW group (3-month period minimum).
  • Current enrollment in Master program outside of the US or enrolled in the last semester of a Bachelor program outside of the US.
  • Equivalent of 3.0 GPA.
