Quality and Process Engineering Co-Op (Fall 2023)

Description

This is a Co-Op position which requires three alternating rotations (e. g. 1st rotation: fall, 2nd rotation: spring, 3rd rotation: summer).

The production and quality co-op combines complex problem solving, bottle-neck process resolution, reporting and ergonomic problem improvement projects.  The co-op will assist QEs and PSPs with problems while evaluating the skills of the co-op for possible permanent placement in one of these roles.

The qualified co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions.

  • Development of incoming Quality KPIs and tracking for Finish areas without them ( Body Adjust and Fit)
  • Creation and improvement of morning schalen reporting with a focus on full automation.
  • Solve 3 complex production problems utilizing PDCA methods and report out on the projects.
  • Solve 1 bottleneck process problem in the Finish area.
  • Solve one ergonomic problem in the Finish area.
  • Automate and improve morning reporting and incoming quality KPI reporting for Metal finish area.

 

Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software.

  • Knowledge of quality tools preferred (PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis), data analysis and statistical calculations).

  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to complete 3 alternating work terms for Co-op positions. 
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • Must Attach an unofficial transcript upon applying 
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term. 
  • The work term dates for this position are August 14th to December 15th, 2023
