System Integration Interior Co-Op (Fall 2023)
This is a co-op position which requires three alternating rotations (e.g. 1. Fall, 2. Spring, 3. Summer).

The qualified co-op will support the evaluation of one or both of the following:
- Vehicle Buildability: Can the product be manufactured repeatedly to meet quality and customer requirements?
- Vehicle Functionality: Will the product meet engineering specifications and customer expectations consistently?
This position will allow the associate to obtain vehicle/technical knowledge, develop and drive vehicle issue solutions, and gain an understanding of TX-522’s targets, process partner network, and role in Plant Spartanburg’s landscape.
The qualified Co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the in the following functions:
- Perform/support root cause analysis and solution development for vehicle/part defects per the standardized BMW problem solving process
- Validate the buildability, functionality, and overall customer-oriented quality of prototype and production vehicles
- Coordinate and support prototype vehicle testing, specialist drive events, and vehicle-design launch events, including supplier part and virtual part concept/buildability evaluation
- Document, manage, and steer launch-related vehicle issues with plant specialists
Assignment Projects:
Full Solution Development and Implementation
- Take full responsibility for/ownership of a vehicle/part defect and work with process partners to identify the root cause, create a solution/design change, and validate the solution’s effectiveness through a line trial.
New Program/Process Development
- Create, design, and/or support the development of new programs/processes for vehicle analysis, problem solving, and overall department activities. This includes team dashboards, target tracking for vehicle defects, and test procedures for functional and noise validations.
- Pursuing a bachelor degree with mechanical, electrical, industrial, or automotive engineering major
- Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience
- Prior automotive experience
- Strong geometric/mechanical problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills/abilities
- Time and task management skills
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
- Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application
- Able to complete 3 alternating work terms for Co-op positions
- Able to work full-time (40 hours / week)
- Transfer students must have a GPA from current university
- MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term
