QMT & Purchasing Specialist

The QMT & Purchasing Specialist:
Manages and leads the timely implementation of projects and life cycle measures to achieve overall successful, on-time industrialization (capacity and quality) for LDL and local purchased parts.
Leads the buyers and QMTs and project relevant monitoring in the PEP until 3-6 months after SOP according to BMW QMT Synchroplan to assure the achievement of all QMT and purchasing targets in time within M-KIEFA groups for local and imported purchased parts.
Manages the advanced quality planning and steering plus supplied parts availability for relevant Plant build phases in time, quality and quantity.
Assures timely and quality supplier readiness and provides preventative solutions and corrective actions to assure overall launch success.
Maintains and tracks all purchase order types (series, ISIR, etc.) and reports proactively and frequently according to project milestones into relevant project Gremien and Circles.
Supervises vehicle project targets and KPIs (such as PZs and ramp up curve data sheet and IPQ data quality, ISIR in time complete), including the pre-load KPIs such as pre-release and SBM/series purchase orders, and escalates (when necessary) deviations to the project and/or KIEFA.
Represents the QMT interests in cross-functional decision-making circles.
Steers project support personnel according to the established policies and practices of the organization.
Coordinates and reports on supplier evaluations within the supplier selection with the focus on product and process quality, quality management systems and manufacturing technologies.
Supervises the release process for purchased parts (parts buy off to process series, ramp up curve and ISIR-Procedure-PPAP).
Ensures QMT standards for local content project according to BMW Quality processes and requirements (e.g. JPQ).
Develops build-phase-equivalent training for suppliers and QMTs.
Steers completeness of all IPQ milestones to ensure holistic status for all supplied parts including local and imported components.
Identifies demand for actions and manages these issues specifically with the various specialist groups for execution.
Develops autonomously short-term solutions in cooperation with internal and external specialists for series start up issues with the goal of achieving 100% customer satisfaction.
Executes autonomously projects concerning the development area with the overall objective of early detection of quality assurance planning tasks.
Informs, advises and supports the MN-x leaders and KIEFA groups as well as the BMW Group AG through working and information meetings.
Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work.
Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.

BA/BS degree in Engineering or Business or a related discipline or the equivalent of 4 years of related professional experience.
5+ years of experience in project management or QMT to include working with cross functional teams.
5+ years of experience in a technical and or commercial field at automotive OEM or equivalent in project phase before SOP and series production.
5+ years of experience leading project teams or being a liaison of technical or project related teams.
5+ years of experience with procurement or QMT systems.
5+ years of supplier evaluation and negotiation experience.
Valid Driver's License and eligible to participate in the BMW MC vehicle Program
5+ years of knowledge of sub-supplier management.
3+ years of distinctive ability to assert self into internal and external business relations, high responsibility awareness, good communication skills and ability to integrate.
3+ years of extensive quality methods knowledge.
3+ years of QMT and purchasing process (product and process development and series production) knowledge.
3+ years of well-founded industrial production process knowledge.
3+ years of sound engineering, process development and series production knowledge.
3+ years of successful inter-cultural teamwork skills.
Basic German language skills (preferred).
