Electrical Validation and Integration Co-op (Summer 2023)
This is a co-op position which requires three alternating rotations (e.g. 1. Spring, 2. Fall, 3. Summer).
The Electrical Validation and Integration Co-op will be integrated into the Electrical/Electronics Validation and Integration team directly mentored by an engineering associate. They will be supporting the analysis of electrical systems and components of vehicles alongside the engineering staff. They will also support planning and preparation activities for validation of new vehicle launches and life cycle updates,including support in testing plans, preparation of vehicles or components for testing, support in documentation of results and support in management of topics. Other objectives include include supporting data analysis, creation of processes or tools, and basic programming.
The qualified co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the in the following functions:
- Analysis support for engineering staff.
- Support in analysis of electrical components and systems, software and function.
- Support in preparation of vehicles for testing and validation activities.
- Support of validation activities on vehicles, systems and components.
- Support of documentation of the results from validation activities and summary of results.
- Data analysis.
- Vehicle testing support – support with data logging equipment used in test vehicles and also in the assembly builds of the pre-series vehicles (setup, monitoring and maintenance of equipment as well as expanding automation possibilities).
- Other tasks as assigned by manager.
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical) or Computer Science.
- Able to work in Microsoft Office.
- Basic level of VBA programming; additional programming skills a positive.
- Must be flexible, have the ability to multi-task, have a keen understanding of time management, and the ability to meet deadlines as requested.
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
- Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
- Ability to complete 3 alternating work terms for co-op positions.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week).
- Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
- MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT.
- Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
- THE WORK TERM DATES ARE May 8th, 2023 to August 11th, 2023.
