Material Control, Logistics - 13 Month Placement
We are looking for a motivated and driven individual who is looking to dive into the field of material control for RRMC- during a 13-month placement. With a global supply chain base of over 800 suppliers, this role provides an excellent opportunity to experience the interactions between suppliers, customers, and internal departments.
What will you be doing?
Gaining an understanding of the supply chain within the BMW Group – how parts are manufactured and delivered from Supplier > Assembly Line.
Bringing the department to a higher level of reporting structure – standardisation of reporting throughout the whole department.
Understanding the department KPIs such as Parts Availability, Days of Inventory Outstanding, Inventory Budget, Transport Budget.
Having an involvement in material control project work with other logistics departments – a set project will be carried out throughout the year to support Material Control.
Supporting Material Controllers within the department by monitoring supplier delivery performance, making the monitoring process easier and less manual.
Managing the weekly material control report – general understanding of processes that are required within material control.
Studying towards a bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, IT or other relevant fields and on track to achieve a 2:2 or above.
Strong relationship building and inter-personal skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Good organisational and time management skills, and ability to show high attention to detail to every task.
Ability to adapt working approach depending on specific requirements, prioritise activities, work under pressure, multi-task and solve problems.
An excellent team player who possesses solid interpersonal and organisational skills.
Experienced user of Microsoft Office and Outlook, knowledge of SAP is advantageous
