Description

Functions as area logistics process engineering expert Analyzes, creates, supports and implements projects to enable the logistics area to meet cost and efficiency targets through the application of VPS methods and standards. Creates and implements methods to meet logistics areas goals. Leads special projects as assigned, including facilitating workshops, managing equipment, process or structure relocations and non-dimensional equipment modifications within areas of zone responsibility, to accomplish efficiency and optimal flow through the zone. Optimizes processes by increasing Value-Add % by Cost Center using VPS methods Identifies and eliminates waste and weaknesses within the process Supports section manager and section leaders within logistics area to improve running performance through efficiency and process improvements Introduces efficiency projects to help meet and exceed targets - Hours handling costs, headcount, lease costs and other logistics cost reductions including quality and safety improvements Analyzes processes for strengths and weakness and implement countermeasures Introduce new process ideas generated from benchmarks and other best practices Adds/modifies non-core processes within LPP Drives improvement of logistics area maturity model scores Plans the relocation of process equipment and material based on optimization projects or non product related changes Identifies and finds solutions for safety and ergonomic problems Improves part supply concepts, quantity and techniques Improves flow racks, kitting and sequencing containers and other logistics equipment Leads optimization changes to the logistics process method changes Leads special projects and/or self-initiated projects for continuous improvement, structure planning, and/or other series-related projects Provides specialized technical guidance and support to assigned logistics area Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving. Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • B.A./B.S. degree with preference in Engineering disciplines or the equivalent of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of related professional experience in process improvement and/or manufacturing/logistics.
  • 3+ years of knowledge of assembly logistics processes pertaining to assigned parts and/or systems by logistics area.
  • 1+ years of ability to use and apply statistical problem solving methods to aid with process analysis.
  • 1+ years of abilities utilizing SAP.
  • 1+ years of abilites utilizing TAIS and MILES, preferred.
  • 1+ years of knowledge of time studies or process analysis via MTM standards, preferred.
  • 1+ years of knowledge of long and short-term project management skills (structure projects, CIP, process analysis).
  • 3+ years of ability to interpret technical drawings and process specifications, preferred.
  • 1+ years of knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • 1+ years of knowledge working with / on innovations and / or automation of manual manufacturing / logistics processes, preferred.
