BMW Group Canada is looking for an Accountant to join the Accounting, Tax & Customs department. The Accountant’s main role is to reconcile preassigned General Ledger accounts and oversee key functionalities of Accounts Payable. In this role you will reconcile and manage key provision accounts and be responsible for reconciling the bank. You will also be responsible for overseeing and developing efficiency measures in regards to invoice processing for BMW Group Canada. 


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Reconcile BMW Group Canada Bank Accounts – Internal/External.

  • Prepare financial documentation and reconciliation for internal/external audits.

  • Process weekly ACH/Cheque/Retailer/Intercompany payment runs.

  • Review and update accounting policies, process maps and internal control documentation.

  • Accurately review, code, process invoices in a timely manner in accordance with company policies and IFRS standards.

  • Correspond to all departmental and vendor related A/P inquiries, while maintaining a positive relationship with all vendors.

  • Manage the prepaids and accrual process, while assisting department requests.

  • Manage Key Provision Accounts (e.g. Vehicle transport costs).

  • Prepare key analysis with focus on key direct and fixed costs GL accounts.

  • Ensure monthly closing activities including reconciliations and journal entries are in compliance with IFRS standards and deadlines.  



  • University Degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting/Finance preferred).

  • 1-2 years experience within a Finance/Accounting Department.

  • Knowledge and experience with SAP preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
