BMW offers a wide portfolio of connected products and apps in our digital cars and related customer touchpoints. Most of those products and apps rely on cloud-based backend services that are developed and operated by our organizational unit.

Our cloud-based Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions enable product teams within our organization to develop and operate Connected Drive backend services. These solutions include container platforms to operate microservices at scale, a CI/CD platform, a central logging platform and an AI platform to train and operate ML-based applications. Our dynamic team in Munich consisting of Product Owners, Cloud Architects and Cloud Engineers is extended by globally distributed DevOps teams with external partners. 

What awaits you?

• You design, develop and operate cloud-based solutions in our PaaS service offering based on state-of-the art technology (e.g., AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Kubeflow, GitHub Actions).
• You architect new technical concepts to maintain the scalability and reliability of our PaaS services.
• You guide and steer the technical implementation of production solutions with the DevOps teams of our external partners. 
• You collaborate with the ConnectedDrive product teams to align on technical requirements.
• You ensure the availability of our cloud services by contributing to our rotating 24x7 on-call duty.
• You are member of an innovative team of cloud experts which drives innovation of our digital products and services. 

What you should bring along?

• University degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning (ML) or a comparable field of study.
• At least 2 years as a professional Cloud or ML Engineer.
• Advanced knowledge in at least one public cloud (preferably AWS).
• Hands-on skills with Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge about state-of-the-art ML frameworks (e.g.TensorFlow) along with knowledge of and experience with Python.
• Excitement for new cloud-native technologies.
• Experience in agile software development.
• Readiness for occasional traveling (<10%), e.g., for face-to-face meetings with our international DevOps teams.
