For our future infotainment software, we are creating an expert team to master System UI topics in the Android Open-Source Project (AOSP). This allows us to intelligently customize the Android framework enabling a once again industry leading customer experience.

What awaits you?

• Your main task will be on extending the AOSP codebase across the different layers with a focus on user Interface components that are part of System UI in an automotive embedded environment.
• You will work in an agile, experienced team and enable the visualization of customer features in the areas of automated driving, augmented reality, navigation, entertainment, and communication.
• The outcome of your work will be ready-to-use, high quality production software.

What you should bring along?

• University degree in computer science or a comparable course of study.
• 3+ years of experience in writing professional production code.
• Good knowledge of Android architecture and practical experience with extending Android (system services, HALs, SDK extensions), Soong build system and Android development tools or high motivation to deep dive into these topics quickly.
• Very good knowledge of writing, maintaining and testing code in Java/Kotlin and C++.
• Knowledge of Android app architecture and interaction with native code (JNI), Linux namespace isolation techniques (LXC, SELinux) or Wayland is beneficial.
