Software Factory is the central program responsible to harmonize and professionalize processes, methods and tools across the global software development for automotive control units (ECUs). The focus is on different areas like architecture, integration and releasing, software validation and software quality. Hence working with us means to set the base for state-of-the-art software development within BMW, that meets current and future demands.

The infrastructure team shapes, defines, realizes and optimizes the overall IT infrastructure for the Software Factory. Thus, we empower the Software Factory by ensuring that the infrastructure is stable and cutting edge.

What awaits you?

• You define together with the lead architect the IT environment and roadmap for the Software Factory and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the target picture meets both the requirements of internal developers and ECU projects.
• Identifying risks and creating plans to mitigate them is part of your tasks.
• You prioritize requirements and change request to ensure optimum overall stakeholder value in coordination with the lead architect.
• Regular alignments on infrastructure requirements with different Software Factory interfaces are part of your work routine. This includes identifying functional and IT technical dilemmas and working with the technical experts to ensure an overall consistent IT infrastructure.
• You are responsible for planning and implementing IT roadmap and planning workshops and maintain the overall IT roadmap for the IT infrastructure.
• Budget and resource planning lies within your responsibilities.

What you should bring along?

• University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physic or in a related field.
• At least 5 years of working experience in Automotive project management, embedded software development or software platform strategy.
• Deep technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure and IT Strategy planning.
• Experience with DevOps or site reliability engineering (SRE).
• Preferably experience working in agile software frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Motivation for continuous improvement of strategies in the field of IT infrastructure and interdisciplinary collaborations with different stakeholders. 
• Business-fluent English, good German is a plus.
