We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied Ph.D. program in the area of Generative AI for Computer-aided Engineering.
What awaits you?
You will develop AI methods that facilitate geometry generation based on functional requirements and BMW’s historical data.
The research is driven by industrial challenges of today’s processes and will contribute directly to solving them and shaping the future of car development.
PhD program at the BMW Group in the fields of Generative AI, Computer-aided Engineering and Generative Design.
The opportunity to work closely with vehicle projects and experts across all lines of business to define relevant usecases for your research.
Conceptualization and development of new AI methods in collaboration with academia based on industrial usecases.

What should you bring along?
Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent.
Experience in using and developing AI models, preferably in deep learning, foundation models, diffusion models, etc.
Knowledge of technical computing and numerical simulation.
Experience with programming and in particular with ML/DL frameworks.
Good knowledge and understanding of CAD / geometry.
