We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied Ph.D. program in the area of Generative AI for Computer-aided Engineering.

• You will develop AI methods that facilitate geometry generation based on functional requirements and BMW’s historical data.
• The research is driven by industrial challenges of today’s processes and will contribute directly to solving them and shaping the future of car development.
• PhD program at the BMW Group in the fields of Generative AI, Computer-aided Engineering and Generative Design.
• The opportunity to work closely with vehicle projects and experts across all lines of business to define relevant usecases for your research.
• Conceptualization and development of new AI methods in collaboration with academia based on industrial usecases.
• The opportunity to attend international conferences, publish your results and create collaborations with other research partners.

What should you bring along?

• Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in using and developing AI models, preferably in deep learning, foundation models, diffusion models, etc.
• Knowledge of technical computing and numerical simulation.
• Experience with programming and in particular with ML/DL frameworks.
• Good knowledge and understanding of CAD / geometry.
• Interest in the topic and applied research.
