This is a full-time internship position for our Spring Rotation, from March 24, 2025 through September 19, 2025 in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.
Support the Technical Service Department for the US-Market in Communication of technical and non-technical information to BMW and MINI dealerships, assisting with various analytical projects, data analysis to report new issues and compile power points for reporting to management or product engineers. Evaluate the service process and work to improve efficiency and create improved forms of information delivery to our customers. There will also be the opportunity to learn about the BMW aftersales processes and tools by working with various teams within Aftersales (Technical Service, Aftersales Business Development, Group University). Furthermore, assisting with the preparation of internal and dealer meetings (up to 200+ participants).
Key Responsibilities:
Quality analysis, evaluation of warranty data and troubleshooting on vehicles
Organizing the topics for Premium Diagnosis improvement and following up with Munich on various diagnosis and test plan topics (some of the work is performed in our national workshop and includes doing measurements on the vehicles)
Translate Technical Documentation from German to English
Assisting with various analytical projects, data analysis to report new issues and compile power points for reporting to management or product engineers
Communication of technical and non-technical information to BMW and MINI dealerships, e.g. Newsletters, Service Roundtable videos, Podcasts, etc.
Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university
Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
Have completed at least 30 college credit hours at time of application
Field of study: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a concentration in Automotive
Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript
Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week)
Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international J1 students only)
Bi-lingual in English and German
Understanding of vehicle systems and components
Basic knowledge of E-mobility, Electronic and/or Powertrain
Conscientious, responsible, ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Self-motivated with strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational and multitasking skills
Must be detail oriented and have the ability to communicate well (verbal and written)
Microsoft Office skills will be required, specifically advanced Microsoft Excel skills

The hourly rate for Undergraduate students is $29.90
The hourly rate for Graduate students is $36.80
