The Software Factory is the central department responsible to harmonize and professionalize processes, methods, and tools across the global software development for automotive control units. The focus is on different areas like software-architecture, -integration & -releasing, -validation and -quality. Hence working with us means to set the base for state-of-the-art software development within BMW, that meets current and future demands.
What awaits you?
- You are responsible to optimise the software architecture processes, methods and tools together with the overarching system architecture as well as the ECU development projects in E/E and align the needs of this projects to a common baseline.
- You shape the future while working on cutting-edge software architecture in a complex automotive control unit environment.
- Responsibility for supporting the design, development, and maintenance of software architecture as well as ensuring high quality, performance, and scalability will be part of your daily tasks.
- You explore and define the needs for the software architecture and work with all stakeholders within the Software Factory as well as the E/E wide system and software architects.
- Syncing on software architecture topics with different software projects belong to your tasks as well as prioritising the problems to solve and proposing solutions to stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with software quality standards and best practice and establishing a core team for implementing the required solutions complete your job profile.
What should you bring along?
- University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or in a related field.
- At least 5 years of working experience in automotive project management, embedded software development, software architecture integration, quality, or testing.
- Expert knowledge of automotive communication technologies and interface management, e.g. CAN, Ethernet, SomeIP, and inter-process communication, e.g. AUTOSAR RTE, sockets, binder and protocols on top.
- Experience with software development tools and methods.
- Very good communication skills with all kinds of stakeholders from developers to senior managers and the motivation to proactively drive and iterate towards a common solution.
- Business-fluent English and German.
