FAQS.

The possibility to apply exists, but you have to transfer to the corresponding partner university for the start of the programme in the 3rd semester.

You should upload the following documents in our application system: Curriculum vitae (CV), grades from your last semester, high school diploma, proof of internships and activities, and proof of additional qualifications.

In addition to the overall grade point average, we also pay special attention to subjects that indicate good analytical skills - accordingly, math and other sciences.

In addition to good grades, convince us with your commitment and motivation for the subject that you are the right candidate for our SpeedUp programme. Did you already do an internship, a language study trip or volunteered? Try to tell us about all the things that make you special when you apply online.

For the SpeedUp programme, you should be fluent in German (written and spoken). In addition, you should be fluent in English, as the programme also includes stays abroad.

There is no absolute maximum age, an application is possible at any time.

If you meet the entry requirements, we will consider you in the pre-selection for our selection days. On the selection day itself, we would like to get to know you better as a person through various exercises.

It is not intended to change one's study course during the SpeedUp programme.

The SpeedUp programme is a scholarship programme that gives you the opportunity to complete your practical assignments at the BMW Group. However, it is not a dual study programme but a study programme with in-depth practice.

During the standard period of your study programme, you will complete practical assignments with a total duration of at least 10 months as part of the Speed Up programme. This includes the compulsory internships, voluntary internships, project work and the time spent writing the final thesis as part of the study programme.

The practical assignments take place solely during the lecture-free period, so that you can fully concentrate on your studies during the current semesters.

During the practical assignments in the SpeedUp programme, you will work as a full team member, preferably in IT projects or in research and development, for example. You will not only gain interesting insights into current projects, but also into exciting innovations of tomorrow.

You access the broad cooperation network of your home university and choose from a worldwide portfolio.

As for SpeedUp there is a scholarship contract and not an employment contract, you are not entitled to any statutory holidays. Of course, you have the usual university holidays over Christmas, Easter and Whitsun at your disposal, as well as the times during the semester break when you are not on a practical assignment at the BMW Group.

At our location in Munich, we offer BMW apartment buildings. In principle, it is therefore possible to rent a room in one of these BMW flats during the practical phases. However, this should be planned well, as the rush for the flats is great.

We support you financially with EUR 350 gross per semester, regardless of whether you travel or not.

You receive the SpeedUp scholarship per month, regardless of whether you are currently studying or on a practical assignment.

You are welcome here with a bachelor's degree. The standard procedure leads to a direct entry into the company after graduating with a bachelor's degree. Entry into follow-up programmes is possible in individual cases within the framework of HR Development.

We are very interested in recruiting you as a permanent team member after successful completion and integrating you into the BMW Group. However, you are not contractually obliged to stay with us, nor do you have to pay back the scholarship if you decide to join another company.

Through your practical assignments in the research and development area of the BMW Group as well as specialisation during your studies, you already determine your professional future direction during the programme.

During my practical assignments I've had the opportunity to build up a large network. I never would have had the chance to do this in a regular study programme.

In areas such as Driver Assistance Systems, E/E or Autonomous Driving, I was able to take on many independent projects. In addition, you have a lot of freedom which made a study semester abroad in the USA and an internship abroad in China possible.
