Thus, I’m involved in the entire life cycle of the vehicles and I work directly on the product – which means that there’s always a high variety of tasks in my work.

GET TO KNOW JULIA.

My career at the BMW Group began in 2004, right after graduating from high school, as part of the young talent development programme. Here I was able to complete not only my studies in industrial engineering but also my apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and experience many exciting practical assignments throughout the company over a period of five years.

After graduation I was immediately given a permanent contract and since then I´ve been working in various areas. From the sales department in the area of customer quality, to quality management for safety belts to purchasing in the area of airbags, seat belts and steering wheels. In all areas, I had the opportunity to gain a lot of experience and acquire new knowledge.

My current position as a purchaser is very multifaceted, as I’m in contact with many different departments internally but also with suppliers on a day to day basis. This means that I’m involved in the entire life cycle of the vehicles and I work directly on the product – which means that there’s always a high variety of tasks in my work. I’ve always been fascinated by the different areas of responsibility and the many opportunities to contribute and develop my knowledge at the BMW Group. At the moment, I’m taking advantage of the opportunity to work part-time and look after my two children in private – another fact that makes my working life always special and exciting.
