I successfully completed my bachelor's degree in Business Studies at DHBW Villingen-Schwenningen in 2011. Back then the concept of dual study, in particular the combination of theory and practice, was just right for me. After completing my studies, I moved to Munster with my husband and got my first professional experience in Dortmund with the recruitment agency Hays in tech recruiting.
During this time, I got to compare many companies from a wide variety of industries. With our move to Munich and the accompanying change of location at Hays, I had my first contact with BMW. It was a totally exciting time and I learned a lot, both professionally and personally. But after almost four years, it was time for a new challenge.
At this point, I was already looking for suitable and gripping job offers on the BMW Group careers website and had proactively set up a job alert. However, until the right position came up at BMW, I first gained valuable experience in recruiting and employer branding at OSRAM AG and at mytheresa.com GmbH. It was also the first time that I had a taste of corporate life before I joined IT Recruiting at the BMW Group in 2018.
I basically became aware of the BMW job advertisement via the job alert I had set up. I submitted my online application on the very same day. After that, everything happened very quickly. After a few days I received an invitation to the e-assessment and two weeks later I was invited to the selection day. Of course, I was extremely nervous and only slept three hours the night before. But it was well worth it. On the very same day I received my confirmation from my current manager. I can remember that very well, because it was such a great moment.
I've been working here for over a year now and I'm super happy – both with my team and my job. The team I’m in consists of 15 colleague with everyone having a different background. Thus, I can really learn a lot from my colleagues and the tasks are very diverse. Next to classical recruiting, we also work on exciting and innovative projects. But what’s even more important to me is that we always have a good time. Off the job, we meet up for dinner, games evenings or go running together.
