Like every student, I asked myself shortly before finishing secondary school what I wanted to do next. It was clear to me that I definitely wanted to start a dual study programme at BMW, because I have been interested in cars from a very young age and the BMW brand in particular has always fascinated me. So it was clear – that is where I want to go! 

After my successful application and acceptance, I started within the company. On the first day, you stand in front of the gates of the main plant in Munich, and at first, you are overwhelmed and have an endless number of questions. But you quickly realise, no matter where you are, that there is always someone to help you with your concerns, which is why you quickly feel comfortable.

As part of the dual study programme,  I was in the company in first year with a few interruptions to attend vocational school. I had the chance to experience a lot as I was able to take part in many different projects, such as a film project. I also had the opportunity to work in a specialist department whereI was able to experience the procedures and the processes, work independently on tasks such as evaluating and visualising driver feedback or creating small applications for internal use. No matter how much we had to do, thanks to the pleasant working atmosphere and helpful colleagues, all hurdles could be overcome at any time and fun and joy at work were never far away.

After my first year at the company, I started my bachelor’s degree. I was able to broaden my specialist knowledge and my horizons. Looking back on the first year, I was able to develop in a variety of ways as I was able to expand my network, learn a lot of new things and make new friends. I am looking forward to the future here at the BMW Group and I am very excited to see what else I will experience here.
