Senior Linux and Android Architect (f/m/x)
At BMW Car IT, a wholly owned subsidiary of BMW AG, we live and breathe software. We design and implement embedded software for electronic control units of the BMW cars as well as related tools and frameworks. As part of our team, you are one of the technical leaders of a BMW ECU (Electronic Control Unit), defining how current and future infotainment ECUs behave and function.
What awaits you?
- You are end-to-end responsible for the design of complex Software architectures for innovative multi-core ECUs.
- As owner of the overall Software architecture, you lead the implementation and deployment of the architectural concept in close alignment with the stakeholders and domain architects.
- You are accountable to ensure that stability, performance, security, and platform reusability aspects are always considered.
- You evaluate the impact of different software solutions on the overall system design.
- You enjoy fast decision and development cycles with hands-on validation in prototype vehicles.
- As part of a supportive expert team you have the freedom to take actions and decisions in your area of responsibility.
What should you bring along?
- University degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of experience as embedded Linux and/or Android developer.
- Professional experience working hands-on with embedded software products.
- Deep knowledge of Linux and Android based embedded systems.
- Proven expertise in the design of complex high performance embedded SW architectures including safety, virtualization and/or containerization.
- Business-fluent English.
