Aftersales - Field Quality and Technical Services

We are looking for an undergraduate student to complete a 13-month placement within our Aftersales department. You will be based in the Rolls-Royce Technology and Logistics Centre working for one of Britain’s leading automotive brands with opportunities to visit and work from Goodwood, the home of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.  During your placement you will have many opportunities to gain a thorough understanding of how Rolls-Royce operates as well as having the chance to get some hands-on experience with the cars.

The Rolls-Royce Aftersales department provides a range of support functions for our global dealer network to maximise customer satisfaction. You will be working within two of our teams, Field Quality & Technical Services. The Field Quality Team ensure that quality is maintained for all worldwide vehicles by monitoring and analysing field data raised by our global dealer network, escalating quality problems to engineering and validating robust solutions.

The Technical Services Team at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars are responsible for the creation, implementation and maintenance of all standards and procedures enabling our worldwide dealer network the capability to service our vehicles whilst preserving an effortless ownership experience for our customers.

What will you be doing?

  • Analysis of dealer technical support cases.
  • Analysis of field data including looking for trends in quality topics.
  • Support with the returning of defective parts and forwarding them on for analysis.  
  • Creating monthly internal and external reports.
  • Helping to develop and create new processes to support daily tasks.
  • Prepare team and department presentations.


  • Studying towards a STEM degree is preferrable
  • Excellent knowledge of MS office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of VBA is an advantage
  • Good analytical skills
  • Great communication skills
  • Thorough attention to detail including precise processing of information
  • Experience of working with large data sets
  • Passion for the automotive industry
