I had the opportunity to work part time at BMW Group during my last years of university, which made the transition to full time after graduation much easier.
Network Development Specialist
Tell us about your current role.
I’m currently working with developing and managing our 178 facilities in the Nordics. So everything from the planning stages of building a new dealership according to our retail standards, setting them up in our internal digital systems to sustaining that every outlet has everything they need to run a dealership or workshop according to our premium standards.
What attracted you to apply for a student job with BMW Group?
Well I’ve always been truly passionate about motorsports, which I got from my dad. During my childhood my father always told me that BMW made the absolute best cars in the world, and I watched Fredrik Ekblom win the Swedish Touring Car Championship in a BMW as a kid, which truly convinced me that my dad was right. Therefore, I’ve been a BMW fan for as long as I can remember. Working for such a brand was just a dream during my studies, to be able to realize the dream later on and to start my career here still makes me pinch my arm every day I walk into the office, just to make sure that I’m not dreaming…
How is BMW Group supporting you to develop within your field?
BMW Group and my closest managers are great in supporting me to develop, they’ve gradually let me take on more and more responsibility in different positions since I graduated and started working for BMW Group full time. Letting me grow within the company has really helped me grow not only in my career but also as a person.
What’s the most exciting thing you’ve worked on?
That must be the things I’m working on right now, we’re currently introducing a completely new retail concept which will be strategically introduced to all our outlets until 2029. It’s really exciting being a part of introducing something brand new to the amazing brand that I’m so deeply passionate about.
What’s is like to step out of school and into a full time position?
Fortunately I had the opportunity to work part time at BMW Group during my last years of university, which made the transition to full time after graduation much easier and not as harsh of a transition.
